HISTORY
MSI was founded in 1986. The idea was to deliver reliable and timely service
- 24/7. Customer service and the relationship with it's clients is today still
one of the core values of MSI and the reason for its success.
Originally, MSI focused on providing spare parts and components only. Speed,
flexibility, and the proximity to Frankfurt International airport, allowed the
company to grow very rapidly. Next, the service of handling entire repair
processes was added to the widening portfolio of services.
In 1989, MSI moved to its current headquarters in Ruesselsheim, a facility with
large warehousing capabilities.
2004 saw the establishment of an authorized engine repair workshop at the
Ruesselsheim site, given the strategic fit with the company's growth plans.
Today MSI services the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100 Series Engines and many more.
Propeller repairs and inspections, overhaul of fuel nozzles and bleed air valves,
are just some of the services offered.
In addition to in-house workshop repairs, MSI's capabilities include on-site
repairs worldwide: from Ulan Bator in Mongolia to Pekan Baru in Indonesia, or
any place in East Africa, thus allowing customers the utmost flexibility.
To better support local customer requirements in the Middle East, Africa and
Asia, MSI established a branch office in Dubai, UAE, in 1998. MSI management
decided to further expand its activities in that region in late 2005, when it
added a EASA Part-145 repair & maintenance facility for electronic and avionics
components. At the same time, MSI's large warehouse went into operation. Both,
workshop and warehouse, are conveniently located in the Dubai Jebel Ali Free
Zone. In 2008, FAA approval was added for this facility.
In 2009, MSI further expanded into Bremen and acquired a subsidiary of
Rheinmetall Defense Electronics and supplier of aircraft spare parts: RDE-SSB.
The site, with its proximity to the Airbus production line, allows MSI to store
greater quantities of spare parts and components so that customers can be
servsed even faster and more comprehensive. With this acquisition MSI has added
the cargo-loading system repair capability to the Dubai workshop.
